I’m an entrepreneur who loves to tell stories. I’m especially interested in using storytelling to build strong brands and enduring cultures.

I’m physically based in Austin, Texas strategically located near excellent barbecue and a slew of beer gardens disguised as coffee shops.

Digitally I write about culture and logistics on LinkedIn, participate in discussions about entrepreneurship on Twitter, and show the internet whatever I see IRL on Instagram.

Most people know me from my time building a logistics company, but I spent a significant chunk of my career in retail and social media after cutting my teeth as a commercial advertising photographer.

I believe:

  • You are who you meet

  • We all want to work somewhere that gives us purpose, even if that purpose is making money

  • Chaos is not a strategy

  • Growing businesses is hard as all get out

  • Doing so requires a lot of help

I also believe:

  • You can learn something from every person you meet

  • And in their stories we can find purpose and lessons that motivate us

  • And those lessons give us structure that can help us make sense of the chaos in our lives

  • And a little bit of structure and a few good stories can create alignment in a fast growing organization

  • And when you pair a strong story that’s steeped in purpose with a little bit of structure, people show up in droves to help you grow faster and more easily than you ever thought possible

So these days I’m spending my time helping entrepreneurs uncover their own lessons, develop them in to stories, and create purpose and structure for the businesses they’re building.

Additionally, I was recently named the next host of Texas Country Reporter, so in the coming years you’ll find me traveling all over Texas telling stories from the backroads of our great state.

If any of that sounds interesting to you, or you just want to grab a beer and talk about which Willie Nelson album is your favorite or ask about my opinion on chili, I’d be happy to hear from ya.
